If you have a family and are in the military, you may be considering other options when it comes to living arrangements. Maybe military housing has crossed your mind, but maybe your considering alternatives such as renting or even buying a house. Here's why I think you should take another look at military housing and reconsider your options.
The first reason is that military housing has gotten a lot better over the years. More than ever, complexes are making sure to provide a spacious and thriving community that can match the environment of a housing neighborhood. They are placed in great locations and provide plenty of amenities for adults and children to all enjoy. These complexes understand that military members generally have families, and will work hard to meet your needs.
Another reason you should consider living in military housing is because the military is full of opportunity. You may have a general idea about how long you are going to be stationed here, but that could chance. What if you are presented with a great opportunity to go somewhere even better, for both you and your family? Being tied up in a property such as a house won't make things easier, and apartment leases are much more flexible.
Something else you may want to think about while you are looking for your new home is cost. Military housing is much more affordable than renting a house. Not only is it more affordable, but it gives you more bang for your buck. There are amenities for fitness, fun and relaxation as well as a staff to take care of any apartment issues you may have.
Speaking of the military housing staff, they are going to save you a lot of time. Houses are a lot of maintenance; they require a lot of upkeep and work, whether you are buying or renting. If you are buying you want the property to retain its value, and if you are renting you don't want to end up getting any excessive charges when you eventually move. What time you aren't spending on the job you should be spending with your family, not unclogging a toilet and or fixing the sprinkler system.
All in all, these are just some of the reasons why I think you should reconsider military housing if you weren't intrigued by the idea. Houses are great and can provide a lot of good elements, but they might not be the best choice when you look at the situation closely enough. Whatever your resulting decision, I do encourage you to do whatever is best for both you and your family.
