I just moved to Jacksonville and I’m not really a beach goer. What else is there to do for fun?

While Jacksonville's beaches are very popular, there is much more to this city. Moving to Jacksonville means that you are now a resident of an amazing, vibrant city with lots to do. For football fans, Jacksonville is home to the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars. Jacksonville also hosts the annual Florida-Georgia game between the University of Florida's Gators and the University of Georgia's Bulldogs. Fans of both teams travel to Jacksonville to tailgate and cheer on their team. Jacksonville is also home to the Jacksonville RollerGirls, a women's flat track roller derby league.

If you enjoy playing sports rather than watching them, Jacksonville is a great place to live. Jacksonville has many excellent golf courses. The headquarters of the PGA Tour is located in Ponte Vedra Beach and hosts The Players Championship every year. Tennis is also popular in Jacksonville; your new apartment might even have its own courts.

If you tastes turn more towards art rather than athletics, visiting the Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens is a must. The museum has a permanent collection of nearly 5,000 works. The museum is also home to 1.5 acres of historic gardens. Be sure to also check out the Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville (MOCA Jacksonville).  This museum dates back to 1924 and hosts both permanent and travelling exhibitions. Both of these museums also have excellent gift shops so you can find unique items for gifts or even decorating your new apartment. Other arts events include Art Walk, a monthly art festival held downtown on the first Wednesday of each month.
