I’m moving to Jacksonville and living off base. What can I do for fun if I am not really into the nightlife scene?

Jacksonville is a large city with a lot to offer. If bars and clubs are not appealing to you, you have a lot of great alternatives for finding fun. If you love the outdoors, the beaches in Jacksonville are amazing and easily accessible. Besides the beach, Jacksonville also has many parks with nature trails. Your new apartment might even have a nature trail on it. Our website allows you to filter your searches for community features such as picnic areas, swimming pools, and other outdoor activity areas. This search even allows you to find apartments that host their own community events like barbecues or pool parties. Why not live in a community that has fun activities right outside your apartment?

Jacksonville is also home to fabulous shopping. This city has something for everyone. St. Johns Town Center, an outdoor mall, has over 150 shops as well as dining options. Be sure to visit the Five Points shopping and entertainment area located in the Riverside-Avondale Historic District. Here you will find an eclectic boutiques and restaurants.

Jacksonville is also a city with plenty of arts and cultural venues. It's easy to find fun things to do close to your new apartment. If you love art, visit the Museum of Contemporary Art or the Cummer Museum of Art. Both of these museums exhibit works by internationally known artists. If Broadway-style performances are more your style, check out the Times-Union Center for the Performance Arts. This center in downtown Jacksonville hosts numerous concerts, recitals, and cultural events. Make sure to check out an orchestral performance by the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra.
