Jacksonville is a large city, but is still much smaller by population than most major metropolitan cities. Our public transportation system is not as user friendly as it could be, but the city has made some major improvements. For the best public transportation you need to live near the more densely populated areas of the city including downtown, San Marco, Riverside, Avondale, Jacksonville Beach, and Neptune Beach.
