Florida weather near military housing is usually very hot in the summer and very mild in the winters. Luckily, Jacksonville and Military Housing is located right on the water so the temperatures are a little cooler in the summers compared to cities farther inland.
You can expect it to get cool around October, but with only three or four weeks of freezing temperatures. July and August are brutally hot with temperatures in the high 90's or even100's.
Downtown is home to many family friendly events including the Art Walk, which takes place in Hemming Plaza the first Wednesday of each month.
