Welcome to Jacksonville! Our city is very diverse and multicultural. Jacksonville is also very military friendly and you will find restaurants and pubs offer specials just for military service members.
The city is very spread out, most places will take about 20 to 25 minutes’ drive time. Luckily, there are several major highways that allow you to get around town pretty quickly. Jacksonville is very much a football town, so there are tons of events during NFL and college football season. Most residents follow the Jaguars for NFL, but both Florida and Florida State are popular college football teams.
If you do enjoy going out at night, be sure to take a taxi or have a designated driver. Jacksonville is very serious about DUI's and there are several DUI officers whose only job is to be on the lookout for impaired drivers. Stay safe and be sure not to drink and drive!
