The Intracoastal area is loosely considered part of Southside, with neighborhoods stretching south of Arlington and east of Kernan Blvd till you hit the intracostal waterway.  Apartment options are plentiful with the majority of options in this area located on Kernan, Hodges, or San Pablo.


If you love the beach but don't want sand tracked into the house all the time the Intracoastal area may be just the right balance. Minutes from the beach, and a little closer to everything else, living along the intracoastal waterway offers residents a unique coastal lifestyle. Commuting Downtown will take you approximately 25-30 minutes during traffic. The area is also extremely popular with college students due to it's close proximity to UNF and FSCJ campuses and of course the short drive to the beaches nightlife.

Heads Up

Because of the growth in the last few years it seems there are always road widening projects happening in the area which can add to your commute time when traveling to and from, especially during rush hour traffic.

Apartment communities & neighborhoods are only a few minutes from the Mayo Clinic, the Beaches, & the popular St Johns Town Center. Need a place to park your boat the Palm Cove Marina has you covered. Locals can also enjoy waterfront fine dining at the near by Marker 32 restaurant. Prefer to cook at home, this area of town offers you the largest selections of grocery store options, including Super Target, Super Walmart, Publix and the upscale Fresh Market.
The area has seen tremendous growth in the past decade, offering increased convenience, ample dining and entertainment choices, and a wide selection of apartment and other rental options.
