I'm a UNF student, new to the state of Florida. What is the weather like in Jacksonville?

Depending on how far north of the peninsula you are from, Florida climate can be a bit of an adjustment. For one thing, don't expect to be building snowmen during the holiday season. Though, you will definitely have more time to break out those short sleeves and swimsuits and catch some rays. Jacksonville apartments offer a variety of features and amenities to help cope with the weather.

The weather is typically warm April through September. Summer months are the hottest, with temperatures ranging on average from 75 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Many apartments in Jacksonville offer ways to stay cool during these hot summer days. Check under the "Sports & Fitness" tab on the Jacksonville Apartments page to search apartments with pools. A quick dip in a resort-style pool is a great way to cool off in the afternoon.

The end of the summer in Jacksonville marks the start of hurricane season. This means lots of sporadic heavy rain. Though, don't be too worried about actual hurricanes- they rarely hit Jacksonville. Apartments with garages and covered parking help keep residents (and their cars) dry during the wet season. To find Jacksonville apartments with covered or garage parking, click the "Parking" tab.

Come October, the weather starts to cool down a bit. Temperatures waver on average between 70 and 40 degrees Fahrenheit, with December and January being the coldest months. There is usually only two or three weeks of freezing temperatures each year. A few Jacksonville apartments feature fireplaces. What better way to stay warm in the winter than cozying up next to a crackling fireplace? This amenity can be found underneath the "Apartment Features" tab.
