If you are a fan of football, you are not alone. With youth, college, and professional leagues like the NFL and Arena football, there are a lot of choices and teams to cheer on. Below is a list of tips for hosting a fun football watch party with your friends, family, or roommates at your apartment in Jacksonville.

PICK THE SPACE

If you plan to have your party at your apartment, make sure everyone at home is on board, especially if you have roommates. If your roommates are up for a party, maybe you could join together to share the cost of supplies, food, and more. Pick the space and invite accordingly. Set up the viewing area in front of the television to ensure everyone has a comfortable seat to sit and watch the big game. If you have a pet friendly apartment, make sure you have plans for your pet also.

If you have an outdoor space like a patio or balcony at your Jacksonville apartment, that may be a great spot to hang out with your guests before the game. You may want to purchase some fun outdoor activities, such as a cornhole set or one of these outdoor games on Wayfair. If your apartment complex has a swimming pool or community grill area with access to TVs, check with your leasing office to see about using it for a football watch party.

DECORATE

You can't have a fun party without decorations. Some ideas for decorations are balloons, plates, cups, tablecloths, streamers, or pom poms in your team's favorite colors, or generic football-themed decorations are also available. If you plan to spend time out of your apartment in your outdoor space, you can also continue the decorations there. And don't forget your own football attire. The headquarters for Football Fanatics is here in Jacksonville and has plenty of clothing and decor for every team.

FOOD & DRINKS

If you are on a tight budget, no worries. There are plenty of inexpensive and easy football game-day snacks and finger foods. If you are watching a football playoff game or the Superbowl, you may want to be more festive in your planning, but football party food doesn't need to be elaborate or complicated. You can even ask your guests to bring their favorite dish or drink to share. Many grocery stores have premade and delicious appetizers, such as Publix's buffalo chicken or artichoke dip that go well with chips and crackers. There are many simple chili recipes online that you can cook in your slow cooker or put some hot dogs or hamburgers on the grill for ease and a simple clean-up. There are a lot of possibilities for food at your football watch party.

Here in Jacksonville, we have a few football teams of our own to cheer on, such as the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Jacksonville Sharks. As you also may know, downtown Jacksonville is home to the big Florida-Georgia game every year. So, there are a lot of opportunities to watch football in person, but if you plan a football watch party at your Jacksonville apartment, we hope these tips help.
