When moving into your new Jacksonville apartment, you have a few choices when it comes to how you can move your belongings from your old place to your new one.
Full Service.
While this is definitely the low stress option, it is also the most expensive option. Professionals will pack all your belongings and provide all packing materials. They will load up, transport, unload, and unpack all of your things into your new apartment. The only thing you need to do is be present for the loading and the unloading. When purchasing the full service package, most moving companies will also completely cover any damage that occurs.
Mid Service.
With mid service you are responsible for packing and unpacking all your belongings and for the packing materials. The moving company will take care of loading, transporting and unloading. This is the most cost effective way to move if you need help with the heavy lifting, but would rather unpack your own belongings.
Self-Service.
With Self-service you are pretty much responsible for everything except the actual transport. You pack, load, unload and unpack and supply all packing materials.
When deciding which method of moving is right for you, think about the following:
How far? For a move across town you may only need a few friends and a U-Haul truck. On the other hand, traveling long distances without professional help can be a very stressful job.
Any stairs? Take into account both the place you are moving into and the place you are moving out of.
What is your budget? Moving to a new apartment is going to cost something regardless of the method you choose. Decide what your budget is and what works best for your type of move. Remember, hurting yourself while moving will probably end up costing you more than hiring movers to help you in the first place.
Remember that just like every other business, there are going to be some good moving companies, and some not so good. The best way to protect yourself is to research your moving company thoroughly and review any contracts before signing.
