Utilities are included at my new UNF apartment, is there any limit?

UNF apartments with utilities included are a great option when looking for cheap apartments in the area. With utilities included in your monthly rent at UNF apartments you can save a lot of time and hassle that you would have spent trying to figure out a separate budget for utilities. Having your utilities included in your UNF apartment can be perfect for the average college student attending UNF. It's hard enough balancing school, sometimes work, and creating multiple budgets. Having your utilities included in your monthly rent can save you a lot of hassle in the long run. When searching for apartments with utilities included they may also be referred to as all-inclusive apartments.

Each apartment community is different. You'll have to check with your specific leasing agent if utilities are unlimited. Some UNF apartments will offer unlimited utilities but many will put caps in place on your utilities. If that's the case then ask your leasing agent what an average utility bill in your communmity runs. If you've lived in an apartment before you may want to consider comparing what you were paying in the past and go from there. Keep in mind when there are caps in place it can be easy to go over them without knowing when you're becoming familiar with the way your caps work. If you do happen to go over you'll either be required to pay the difference or pay a fee for going over your cap. Check with your leasing agent to see which is the case in your UNF apartment.

There are almost always ways to save energy in your apartment that you're not currently doing. So if you come to find that you're using quite a bit more energy than you had planned, take into consideration some energy saving tips.

Take short showers instead of baths

Taking short showers over baths in your UNF apartment can save you tons of water in the long run. If you use low-flow showerhead you'll notice additional savings in your water usage.

Turn things off when you're not in the room

This might seem obvious but we can all be forgetful. Try to remember to turn off your entertainment centers, gaming consoles, and lights each time you leave a room.

Plug electronics into power strips

Power Strips can often be overlooked but they can actually help you save a good amount of energy. Whether you know it or not when your TV, gaming consoles, stereos, and more are plugged into a traditional wall outlet they are still using energy even when they're not turned on. If you instead plug all of these devices into a power strip, and simply switch the power strip off when you're not using these electronics then you won't have them sucking up energy all the time.

Wash only full loads of dishes and clothes

It might seem like a pain in the butt to hand wash those one or two dishes sitting in the sink when you could just throw them in the dishwasher. But that can waste a lot of water and energy, especially if you only have a few items. Try to only use your washer and dryer and dishwasher when you have full loads that need to be clean.
